Cancer Update on my son Allen

Allen went for his "routine" 6 month check up for CAT scan, xray and blood work, and had an appointment today to meet with his Oncologist for those results.

Am so relieved to tell you that his results have come back NORMAL...yahhh, thank God!

He will go again in 4 months for blood work, then in Nov. for more scans & xrays.

Thank you all for your continued support, thoughts & prayers!

And don't forget to have the men in YOUR life SELF-EXAM!! It could save their life!

Wear The Pants Project

Kim Jones, the founder of the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation set up a daily-vote project on Facebook as a way to help
raise awareness for this disease.

Here's an excerpt from Kim's page...

"Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation. After my 13 yr old son was diagnosed at stage 4, then finding out it's the leading cancer in young men. I started a foundation for awareness and to support the newly diagnosed along with others who have been touched by this disease. It needs to be talked about just as much as breast cancer. Awareness is our biggest weapon we have against cancer. "

You can help by visiting Kim's Page daily
through March 15th and vote!

Testis Cancer Statistics & Awareness Info

The Orchid Ribbon...

a symbol of spreading Testicular Cancer Awareness.

As of 2007, the statistics are 1 in 271 men will be diagnosed with cancer of the testis at some point during their lifetime. Men who have a family history of this type of cancer, are 9 times more likely to be diagnosed.

My goal...

to help bring those numbers down!

Testicular Cancer is the "most-common" form of cancer in men between the ages of 15 and 40. Early detection is the key to successful treatment!

Please encourage the men in your life (young & old) to perform monthly self-exams...
it could save their life!

For more information on how you can help spread awareness, please visit the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation formed by Kim, who's son Jordan was diagnosed at the young age of 13.

A Season of Giving and Hope

Testicular Awareness Cancer Foundation

Do you donate to charity during the holidays?

In my journey to bring awareness to everyone about testicular cancer, it is my hope that people consider the TCAF (Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation) which was started by my friend Kim whose son Jordan was diagnosed at the young age of 15.

Here's some info about this foundation:

Mission Statement

TCAF is a national non-profit, 501(c) (3) corporation, that is dedicated to educating young men of the importance of monthly self-examinations through educational materials and marketing efforts, and to help support research and clinical studies.

About Us

We are dedicated to the education and awareness of testicular cancer in honor of Jordan Jones, who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of testicular cancer stage IV at the age of 13. After his diagnosis he and his family were told by doctors at the number one cancer center in the nation, that he was inoperable and that the tumors were taking over his body. They were also told that if they did chance the surgery and he were to survive, he would have a very poor quality of life.

Because of diligent research by his father and mother, support of his family, friends, prayers from all over, medical doctors, holistic care, and Jordan’s incredible attitude, he is a survivor. With an amazing story Jordan is an inspiration to many. Jordan attends Grand Junction High School in Western Colorado where he is a Honor Roll Student, is on the varsity football teams, along with lacrosse, and plays the cello in orchestra. He is a shining example of positive thinking and will power.

************************

I realize during these economic-hard-times, that you may be unable to donate. But would you be able to join me in spreading awareness?

If your efforts could save just 1 life,
it truly is worth it!
